本片真實再現了披頭四樂隊成員的保羅（加里•貝克威爾 飾）的愛情神話。上個世紀六十年代末，英國搖滾樂隊披頭四樂隊風靡世界，美國的雜志攝影師琳達奉命為前來美國演出的披頭四樂隊拍照。就這樣，她邂逅了披頭四樂隊的成員麥凱尼•保羅。兩日一見鍾情，很快墮入愛河。保羅不顧琳達是單親母親的身份和歌迷們的強烈反對，和琳達步入了婚姻殿堂。然而，婚後的保羅事業開始下滑，一方面是由於歌迷的原因，另一方面是因為他和披頭四的主唱列農不和。在保羅事業進入低潮的時候，琳達依然不離不棄，陪伴著保羅一起走過漫漫長路……...
